Ankh Plaque
This stunning carving features the best in ancient Egyptian mythology! On the right is Anubis, who is seen with the head of a jackal and the body of a man. Anubis, sometimes called Anpu, was thought to be the god of the dead. On the left is Horus, who is seen with the head of a falcon and the body of a man. Horus’ right eye is the sun and his left eye is the moon and he was thought to be the god of the sky. In between their staffs is an ankh, which symbolizes eternal life in ancient Egypt. It’s also thought to be the key of life. The attention to detail showcased in this wood carving is absolutely amazing!
