“Give me liberty or give me death!” – Patrick Henry. Those living in the original American colonies lived tough lives under the boots of the British Empire. Everything from taxation without representation, to absolute despotism forced normal people to take up arms against their oppressors for a chance at a better life. This burning passion lives on today in the hearts of those who truly love the United States. They acknowledge that the country is far from perfect and has many things that need fixing, but at the end of the day, they are proud to be an American.
