Wild Horses
Wild horses might seem like a thing of the past, but many of them can still be
found all across the United States and even other parts of the world! Some scholars say that the current
wild horses are direct decedents of the horses brought to America by the Spanish in the 1500’s. Most of
them can be found in remote areas in Idaho, Colorado, and even the Outer Banks! These amazing
creatures live in herds that vary in size and are usually led by a male horse. A majority of the land the
wild horses occupy in the United States is owned by the government and some special permissions may
be required to gain access to those areas.
