Lady Liberty
Every nation has an iconic location, landmark, or building that distinguishes it from the rest of the world. Many of them are so popular that even those unfamiliar with the country they are located in will be able to identify the location based on the object itself. The Coliseum in Rome. The Eiffel Tower in Paris. Big Ben in London. The list goes on and on, but when it comes to the United States, nothing is more timeless than the Statue of Liberty. She sits on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, and can be seen from a great distance off. Those coming here from many generations ago would travel right by her on their way to Ellis Island.
