Bear Dream Catcher

History tells us that the Ojibwe tribe was the first among native Americans to utilize birchbark canoes, copper trading, and the dreamcatcher. The Ojibwe people believed that good and bad dreams filled the air at night, and that if you hung a dreamcatcher over your bed…the bad dreams would get caught in its web…like a fly to the spider. The practice of using dreamcatchers was common among adults, but children seemed to have been the primary focus of their inception. This piece clearly pays tribute to that bygone era, but with a twist that is bear-ly noticeable.
